Ayurveda and Gut Health

The human gut plays a major part in a person's overall health. The human gut is the main factor in a person's health, and our ancestors knew this long ago before scientific studies. Before the days of the probiotics, and before a thousand years of the discovery of the gut microbiome, ancient Indians were very conscious of what was happening in their stomach. One of the world's oldest systems of medicine is Ayurveda and Ayurveda considers the digestive system as the center of human health. Not only a part of the system but the source of all things is the gut health. In Ayurveda, the gut is considered as the second brain.
